Article 2 — Chronic pain in Brussels: when acupuncture comes to support your daily life
Published by khabthaniy on

Tendinitis, sciatica, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, migraines and headaches... These chronic pains affect a large number of people in Brussels and have a lasting impact on their quality of life, whether in terms of sleep, mobility, or simply daily professional life. While Western medicine obviously remains essential in their management, traditional Chinese acupuncture can provide valuable complementary support, recognized for centuries in Chinese medicine and increasingly studied by Western research.
In Chinese medicine, chronic pain is often interpreted as a sign of a blockage in the circulation of energy (Qi) or blood along the meridians. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture aims to unblock these areas of tension, reduce locally felt inflammation, and gradually restore mobility to the affected joints and muscles.
For sciatica, for example, the work often focuses on the bladder and gallbladder meridians, while for osteoarthritis, the emphasis is placed on the overall support of kidney energy, considered the root of the body's vitality in the Chinese tradition.
Since everyone is different, I always take the time during an initial consultation to trace the history of the pain: how long it has been present, what aggravates or relieves it, and how it fits into your overall balance. A treatment plan of sessions is then proposed, generally close together at the beginning and then spaced further apart as improvement takes hold. This support is part of a broader approach to health, where diet (Chinese dietary therapy) and emotional balance also play an important role in long-term pain management.
I consult in Brussels or in Uccle (STAYSTRONG Center) — please feel free to consult me if you live with this type of pain on a daily basis, or to contact me with any questions before making an appointment.
